Lights, camera, synchronized swimming for Gold Meets Golden.
The Gold Meets Golden event hit Beverly Hills once again, blending the glitz of Hollywood with the gold of Olympic glory and a touch of Parisian glamour. The star-studded affair welcomed athletes, celebrities, and fans alike to celebrate the intersection of sports and entertainment to raise money for the Angel City Sports charity helping kids with disabilities to participate and compete in sport.

This year’s extravaganza saw a splash of something truly special as the Aquabatix USA synchronized swimming team took center stage. Their performance was nothing short of spectacular. Picture this: a Barbie-inspired routine featuring none other than the iconic doll herself, along with her dashing companion, Ken. Oscar winning music producer Mark Ronson was delighted to lend his support behind the music and Aquabatix for the event too.

Led by Olympian Anita Alvarez, the Aquabatix team transported the audience into Barbie world with five synchronized swimmers representing Stereotypical Barbie, Olympic Barbie, President Barbie, French Barbie and Weird Barbie. Being unveiled to the audience with the classic Space Odyssey theme as in the movie, the five Barbies dived in and performing an upbeat choreographed section to ‘Dua Lipa’s Dance The Night Away’ followed by a slower paced tone to Billie EIlish’s Oscar winning song ‘What Was I Made For”. Changing the mood, Scott Spraags entered the deck, bring some Kenergy to the stage, with his interpretation of Sam Smith’s ‘Man I Am’. Anita then went on to perform a solo in the water to part of the infamous empowerment speech.

The Barbies joined in for the finale, creating a stunning climax to the performance.
